Vol.53 Next Creativity issue

With the diversification of media, advancing technology, and the wave of conversion to e-books, the creative scene of today is in the midst of the greatest revolution since dawning of desktop publishing. This issue we introduce a new generation of creators who possess the unique ideas and rich imagination needed in such a time, and take a look at their vision for the days to come.

As part of this all-interview special, we speak with 16 teams of creators from the fields of graphic design, film/animation, and interactive art who herald the future of the creative scene with their innovative approaches, aesthetic sense, and highly original methods of presentation. Alongside the interviews with the likes of Toko and their experimental and bold yet sincere graphic design, Julien Vallée with his imaginative artwork that balances digital elements and ideas reminiscent of craftwork techniques, Molho, whose video creations create impact with mysterious visuals and storylines, and interactive web artist Rafaël Rozendaal, we present selections of their diverse work.

メディアの多様化やテクノロジーの発達、さらに電子書籍化の波を受け、DTP黎明期以降最大の変革の最中にある現在のクリエイティヴ・シーン。そんな時代に求められるユニークな発想と豊かな創造性を備えた次世代クリエイターを紹介。彼らの視線の先に映る新時代のヴィジョンを窺う。

全編インタビュー企画で展開する今号は、グラフィック・デザインや映像／アニメーション、インタラクティヴといった分野から、革新的なアプローチや審美眼を持ち、オリジナリティ溢れる表現手法によって、次なるクリエイティヴ・シーンを担うであろうクリエイター16組にインタビューを敢行した。実験的で大胆ながらも彼らの実直さが表れたTokoのグラフィック・デザイン、クラフト手法に巧みなアイデアとデジタルの要素をバランスよく付加したJulien Valléeの独創的なアートワーク、神秘的なヴィジュアルとストーリー展開がインパクトを与えるMolhoの映像作品、ウェブ上でインタラクティヴ・アートを発表しているRafaël Rozendaalなど、彼らのインタビューと共に多種多様な作品を掲載している。
