Vol.47 Pattern Graphics issue

Patterns graphics spawn countless variations from combinations of simple forms and lines while creating a sense of endless expansion through repetition. In this issue, we explore the magic of artwork with patterns across the entire spectrum of media and techniques, from computer graphic and hand-drawn pieces to paper and animated pieces.

Volume 47 kicks off with interviews with five creators of vastly different backgrounds like contemporary art and interactive media. With artists like Ryan McGinness, best known for his colorful paintings that make clever use of icons, and Peter Kogler, who applies graphics to actual buildings to make giant-size installations, it's a feature chock full of visuals that go beyond any preconceived notions of patterns that you won't want to miss. Following we have our special feature, where we introduce 15 creators, all characterized by different styles of hand drawing, graphic art, illustration, textiles, or programming, with their short interviews and samples of their artwork.

The cover features artwork by Ryan McGiness.
