Everything should be less beautiful than life!
If you create and visualize in a material way, thinking about ecology is tragic. How can a designer communicate if every material used is one too many?
Use "as less as possible" seems to be a logical answer.
These days, Nynke and i do not believe in "less is more" within the object.
Our ideas are far from minimal: we feel hysterical, not balanced at all!
However, "less is more" in the context of "amount of objects" is a concept to keep.
Due to today's great mass-communication, a unique piece can be at all places at the same time; the image is the product.
When you accept the image of the object as the product, even a designer can be as less a materialist as possible without being total fiction.
In theory Nynke and I believe in this modern realism but often we find ourselves still adoring the object more real life.
